A coalition of companies and public interest groups, led by Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Megafood, gathered 104,952 signatures on online petitions to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), urging the agency to lower the tolerance limit of glyphosate in oats and prohibit its pre-harvest use.   The EPA's legal limit for glyphosate residues on oats is 30 parts per million, or ppm. Roundup “Weed Killer” Contributed to CA Man’s Cancer.

A federal jury in San Francisco has found that Monsanto's weed-killer glyphosate was "a substantial factor" in causing a man's cancer, delivering a major new blow to the agrochemical giant now owned by Bayer who acquired it last year.
